Outlook
Happy September! My personal favorite time of the year. Temperatures are cooling, colors are changing, and the rivers are mellow. It's great to see the checkerboard of yellow and green starting to cover the river banks. Fishing has still been good, but you have to work for it a bit more right now. The solid double-digit days where you never have to change the pattern you are fishing seem to be past us, but the average-size fish is improving. We are still finding plenty of fish willing to eat on the surface, but we seem to be finding them in clusters and then needing to change up flies numerous times throughout the day, so if you see a rejection or have not gotten an eat in a hole or two, switch it up quick. It definitely feels like we are in the transition time between fish looking up and fish getting aggressive on streamers. We have had success with both methods throughout the day and expect more of the same through the weekend. Here in the shop we have cut our store hours down to 7 AM - 6 PM and will go to 8 AM - 6 PM starting Labor Day. Also, Simms will be at the shop this Sunday from 12 PM - 7 PM on their Working Wader Tour. They will be diagnosing and repairing any brand of leaky waders for free, so swing by and get some free labor out of Simms and have a tasty beverage on us.

Never miss a fishing report.
Recent Reports
Green River
The Green River is in excellent condition. We saw a little bump in flows from the rain this week that put a little color in the water and brought the water temps down even more. We are seeing fish spread throughout runs a bit more. Dry droppers in the riffles and pockets are still working well, but we are finding more fish along slower seams and in tailouts too. Streamer fishing has picked up a bit, especially in the slower pools and tailouts.

Flies to try
Water Walker, Purple Reign, Dungeon
New Fork River
The New Fork seems to be coming back into shape. We have seen a fair amount of water temp improvement and we are starting to explore some of the lower sections again. We are seeing good hatches of tricos, BWOs, the occasional Callibaetis, and a few caddis. Hoppers and other large foam bugs are still producing in good numbers too. The streamer bite has been a little hit or miss but should continue to improve as the month goes on.

Seedskadee
Conditions have remained pretty consistent below Fontenelle Dam, but temperatures have been in our favor. The cooler weather has helped to improve conditions a bit farther down the river. We have seen cooler water temps as far down as Hay Farm and expect the trend to continue. Hunting giants with Crayfish and streamers is going to get good as the weather cools and the Kokanee start to show up. Fishing hot heads is a good option this time of year.
