Outlook
October fishing has started off as good as anyone could ask for. The weather has gotten a bit crispy, and I finally had to break out the waders, but the average-sized fish we have been catching lately has been outstanding. We are seeing a lot of Rainbows shaped like footballs and some Browns that are absolute tanks. It has been hard to throw anything but a streamer lately, but when we do mix it up, we are catching mostly on nymphs. If you are out fishing tribs or the upper sections of the larger rivers, consider sticking with the dry dropper setup. We are getting very few eats on dries now, but the dry dropper setup is great in the low, clear water because of the delicate presentation you can get with it. We are expecting some warmer weather later in the week and into the weekend, so get out and take advantage of it. We are still well stocked on streamers at the shop, so swing by and grab a few on the way out. Don't forget to keep an eye out for and avoid spawning Browns in shallower sections.

Recent Reports
Green River
Fishing on the Green is staying strong. The upper sections are perfect for wading right now, but don't forget your waders. Dry droppers have been working well in the deeper pocket water and along the foam lines. On the lower sections, we have had a lot of luck with streamers and indicator rigs. Concentrate your efforts on the deeper holes. If you are struggling to find fish, try getting your flies down deeper, and if that doesn't work, be quick to switch out until you find what they are eating.

Flies to try
Holo Batman, Laser Legal, PT Jig
New Fork River
The New Fork is good right now. Streamer fishing has been on lately, and the average fish has been really good quality. Focus on the deeper holes and tailouts. Getting streamers down deeper with a sinking line or a polyleader has been working well. Getting nymphs down along foam lines has produced some trout as well as stud Whitefish.

Flies to try
Rabbit's Foot, Slim Jim, Slayer
Seedskadee
October is a great month to fish down in Seedskadee. We still have some guide days available down there, so if you have been thinking about taking a trip, now is the time. Streamers and crayfish patterns have been working well. Scuds, sow bugs, and small pheasant tails have been good in the skinny water. Try hot head patterns behind Kokanee for trout feeding on eggs. In areas where the water has a green tint from moss and grass, larger nymphs, such as Rubberlegs, have also been producing fish.
