Outlook
Well, we are closing the storefront for the winter once again after the end of the month and another great season, but that isn’t stopping us from getting some fishing done in the 11th hour. While we have just had our first large snowstorm of the season, the rivers are likely a way out from freezing. Browns are fully spawning still, so be mindful of that, but streamer and nymph fishing is solid.

Never miss a fishing report.
Recent Reports
Green River
Streamer fishing is still the ticket, as fish have stacked up below beds to feed. Just make sure to fish deep holes to not disturb spawning browns. Darker and more natural colors are likely to be productive. The water is low, so fish are getting a better look at flies, especially streamers, so nothing too flashy.

Flies to try
Zonker, Swim Coach, Triple Double
New Fork River
The browns are spawning the same on both the New Fork and Green rivers, but more fish have conglomerated in slow, deep holes on the New Fork. Nymphing tactics, as well as some small to medium streamers, have proven productive, and fish aggressively feeding.

Flies to try

Seedskadee
The section just below the dam is closed off for a few months, so be sure not to cross the cable. Big rainbows and cutthroat are very active right now if you’re willing to fish between clumps of moss, which is starting to diminish. Hot beads and classic tailwater bugs are a favorite right now, with small streamers mixed in.

Flies to try
HH Pheasant Tail, Ray Charles, Wooly Bugger
Bighorn River
Dry fly season seems to finally be wrapping up on the Bighorn, so mostly nymph fishing and some streamers have been getting the job done. There is still a slight moss problem at the moment, but with cooler weather rolling in, that should be remedied soon.
