Outlook
It's the fall that keeps on giving. Last week we had some great weather, and it looks like we will have some pretty nice weather late this week and into the weekend. My advice: go fishing. In this low, clear water, it is so exciting to watch a huge fish come from out of nowhere to hammer a streamer. Remember to keep your composure when this happens, though. I have been guilty a couple of times lately of setting the hook too early when I see the bite instead of waiting until I feel the fish on the line. The other day, I whiffed on a giant Brown while my boss was watching. Pretty embarrassing. Anyway, the fishing is still really good, and it is a great time to be out there. We have been seeing a lot of redds and some Browns sitting up on gravelly flats, so remember to keep an eye out for and avoid spawning fish. We are still well-stocked on streamers and nymphs in the shop, so swing by and grab some bugs on your way out. Fly-tying nights will start next Thursday, November 6th, from 6 PM to 8 PM here at the shop. Our first tie night will be hosted by TRFC guide Harley. He will be tying the famed Elk Hair Caddis. As I mentioned last week, tying nights are free to attend, and everything you need is provided. If you have a vise and tools you would like to bring, feel free to bring them. Our second fly-tying night will be Thursday, November 13th. This tie night will be a beginner's night hosted by TRFC guide David. He will be tying the Hare's Ear Nymph. As a reminder, we will be changing our store hours to Thursday through Sunday, 8 AM to 6 PM, starting November 1st.

Recent Reports
Green River
The Green has been fishing pretty good. We have been catching good numbers of fish on the Green recently, especially on nymphs and small streamers. The upper sections have maintained excellent wading conditions and have produced well lately. There are lots of caddis casings and fry in the water right now, so really small streamers and dark nymphs have been good. In the lower sections, getting larger bugs down deep in the holes is working well.

New Fork River
If you are into throwing big streamers, the New Fork is hard to beat right now. While you probably won't find the higher numbers of fish that you might find on the Green, the quality of the fish on the New Fork might make your day. We are still finding the majority of the fish in deep tailouts and hiding in structure such as rock ledges, root balls, and even clumps of vegetation. Nymphs are also moving some fish along deep seams and foam lines.

Below Fontenelle Dam has been fishing really well. We have had some epic streamer days when there is cloud cover. We're still seeing BWO hatches when it warms up a bit, but not much surface activity. Nymphing with small mayfly patterns, crayfish, and sow bugs has been good. We have seen actively spawning fish in shallow areas, especially up by Weeping Rock, so try to stick to fishing the deeper areas and avoid disturbing spawning fish. As I mentioned, streamer fishing has been pretty good. On bright days, a small streamer trailed by a crayfish pattern has been good, and large streamers have worked well on cloudy days.
