Outlook
It's definitely getting a bit colder out there, but that hasn't slowed the fishing down any. Looks like we are going to have some decent weather this week and into the weekend, so make sure you take advantage of it while you still can. We have had some really good days recently with good numbers of fish and some big fish on both streamers and nymphs. Fishing streamers has still been my preferred method, but nymphs have been producing well lately. I had an opportunity to get out late last week and swing some streamers with a trout spey rod. It was fun to mix it up a little bit, and I hooked into a few really nice fish. We have some exciting news here at the shop. We will be keeping the fly shop open through the holidays this year. Our winter hours starting November 1st will be Thursday to Sunday, 8 AM to 6 PM, so if like me, you plan on fishing late into the year or if you are looking for an awesome fly fishing gift, we have you covered. Also starting in November, we will be hosting Thursday night fly-tying nights here at the fly shop. Fly-tying nights will be free to attend, and tools and materials will be provided. I will be providing more details on the fly-tying nights in the coming weeks, but if you have any questions, give us a call or swing by the shop.

Recent Reports
Green River
The Green is producing some good numbers of fish at times. Nymphing has been the best option for catching higher numbers of fish, but some nice fish are being caught on streamers. Down lower on the river, we have been able to get away with bigger nymphs at times. We are seeing fish take the opportunity for a big meal in the slower water. In the upper sections, keep the presentations smaller and continue to work deeper areas near structure. Smaller streamers have produced some nice fish.

New Fork River
The New Fork is still fishing well. Streamers are a great option for moving really big fish. Nymphing is getting the job done along foam lines and deep in tailouts. Remember to pay special attention to deep spots with some structure. Those areas are where we have seen the biggest fish hanging out.

The fishing below Fontenelle Dam has been some of the best in the area. There is still moss and grass in the water, but it seems to be thinning out a bit. The vegetation is giving the water a slight tint, allowing us to find success with some bigger bugs. During the warmer parts of the day, we are still seeing a few BWOs and caddis, but not much surface activity. Mayfly and caddis nymphs, along with scuds and crayfish, have all been good. Now is a great time to do some streamer fishing in the area with a little color in the water and big, aggressive pre-spawn Browns.
