Outlook
Fall fishing rocks. I love the late starts, quiet rivers, and big fish. I even love throwing on a pair of comfortable sweats and getting into my waders. If you're not fishing this fall, you are missing out. Fishing conditions have been holding strong, with streamer fishing often being the preferred method recently. Temperatures for later this week and into the weekend seem to be trending a bit lower, but the prospect of some cloud cover and precipitation should make for some pretty good fishing conditions. Remember that we are coming into spawning season for Browns, so if you see fish sitting in shallow gravelly areas or on redds, try to avoid them. Lately, I have been spending a lot of time fishing the deeper tailouts and along structure that has a bit of depth around it. With fish sitting deeper and not looking up as much, getting flies down deep will help you get more opportunities. We still have a great selection of heavy streamers and sinking lines at the shop if you are having trouble getting your flies down deep.

Recent Reports
Green River
The Green has been a little hit or miss lately. We have had some really good days, especially wading, and we have had some slow days recently. Nymphing has been working better than streamer fishing, especially in the upper sections. If fishing is slow, try sizing down a bit. Putting on a midge or a small mayfly nymph has helped get some fish to eat. In the upper sections, fishing structure has been where we have found the most opportunities. Down lower on the river, getting nymphs and streamers down in the deep holes has been the best bet.

New Fork River
The New Fork is fishing well. Streamers on the lower sections are the best game in town. The upper sections are still fishing well with both nymphs and streamers. Fishing the tailouts, eddies, and deep cut banks with structure has been the most productive. We have found the largest fish hiding near structure along deep cliff walls and cut banks. If you are not finding many fish and you feel like you are getting your flies down to a good depth, be quick to change up the color you are fishing until you find what is working best that day.

Seedskadee
This is the best time of year to fish down below Fontenelle Dam with some really excellent opportunities to catch some jumbo trout. We only have a couple of available guide days left for Seedskadee, so if you have been thinking of taking a trip, make sure you book before the end of the month. Nymphing has been working well recently, and streamer fishing has picked up when there is some cloud cover. There is still moss and grass in the water, and much of that should start to flush out as the nights get colder. Drifting a scud or hot head nymph along foam lines and in tailouts has been the most productive.
