NOTICE: AVOID REDDS AND SPAWNING FISH
It's been a pretty nice week, and it looks like the warmer weather is going to hang on for us through the weekend. Fishing has been good but definitely seems to be shifting to a more winter style of fishing. We are still getting fish chasing down a streamer thrown into some structure, but nymph fishing has been picking up quite a bit. Brown Trout spawning seems to be winding down. We are seeing a lot of redds, but very few that still have fish on them. Keep an eye out for and avoid redds and spawning fish. Here in the shop, we have fly tying tonight from 6-8 PM. TRFC guide David Bowers will be tying a Hare's Ear, and beginners are encouraged to attend. Also, we will be closed Friday and Saturday this week but will be back to normal winter hours next week. Get out and take advantage of the warm weather this weekend, as it looks like it's going to take a turn on Monday.

Green River
The Green has been a favorite for walk and wade anglers lately. We have been seeing a good number of fish on both small streamers and nymphs. Fish have mostly moved into what I call 'winter holding water.' Focus on the deep holes with very little current, using a slow, deep presentation. If you are thinking of floating the Green, the lower sections near Big Piney and La Barge are a good option.

Burgin Bugger, Mic Drop, She Ra
New Fork River
The New Fork is still a top choice for me. Streamer fishing seems to be slowing down a bit, but we are still moving some really nice fish. Midge activity has increased on the New Fork, and nymph fishing is really picking up. We are still seeing a few fish holding along cut banks with some structure, but many of the fish have moved into deeper slow sections.

Flies to try
Yellow Spot Jig, Holo Batman, Mini Dungeon
Seedskadee
Fishing has been good below Fontenelle Dam, and conditions continue to improve down there. More and more of the grass and moss has cleared out, making it easier to fish slower sections. The midges are thick right now, and fish are pretty keyed in on them. Streamer fishing is still pretty good too. A slower presentation through the deeper sections has moved some fish, and stripping streamers near structure has worked well too.
