Outlook
It was another good week of spring fishing here in Pinedale. We had nice weather, decent numbers of fish, and a few fish with some size to them. Looks like we are going to have some really warm temperatures ramping up this weekend, so it should be a nice time to get out and do some fishing. Tactics will be the same with nymphs and streamers producing the most fish. Streamer fishing was a little slower this last week with the sunnier weather, but we still got some nice eats. I expect with the warm bright days coming up, nymphing will be the way to go. Bug activity on the surface was pretty low this week around Pinedale, but there have been some BWOs and even a caddis or two around. If you are thinking about booking a trip, we still have some availability during this pre-runoff time in the next few weeks. Many of our guides love being out on the water this time of year and have been spending a lot of time on the water finding some really nice fish. Give us a call, and we will get you out there while the water is quiet and the fishing is good.

Recent Reports
Green River
The Green has been fishing well lately. We have had some exceptional wade fishing on the upper sections recently. Small stonefly nymphs with a BWO nymph have been the rig of choice recently. On the lower river, nymph fishing has been productive too, and we have seen some pretty good streamer fishing conditions at times. Look for fish feeding more actively below riffles and along foam lines as the days warm up.

Flies to try
Jig SF, Lil Kim, Spanish Bullet
New Fork River
The New Fork is pretty low, but still fishing pretty well. Streamer fishing has been a bit less productive recently, but we are still finding a few fish stripping streamers. Nymphing has been good in areas where riffles drop into deeper water. BWO activity seemed to be minimal lately, so fishing small stonefly nymphs and larger mayfly imitations has been the ticket. Fishing slightly larger nymphs has produced good numbers of trout and will help keep the Whitefish numbers down a bit. It seems like Rainbows are post-spawn, but keep an eye out for and avoid redds in the shallow areas, especially in the upper sections.

Flies to try
Faucii Jig, Peanut Envy, Purple Tag
Seedskadee
Fishing below Fontenelle has remained pretty consistent. Fish have been keying on sow bugs, BWOs, and some caddis. Streamer fishing has been good when there is some cloud cover. Keep an eye out for and avoid spawning Cutthroat in shallower areas, especially at the head or tail of braids in the river. Fishing along seams has still been the most productive areas to find fish.
