Outlook
Life is good here in Pinedale. Dry fly season has kicked off and things are looking good for the upcoming weekend. With the warmer weather, water has bumped up just a bit and looks like it will hold at the higher level through the weekend. The number of bugs flying around seems to be increasing every day and fish are looking up. The mosquitos have joined the party too, so make sure you grab some bug spray when you swing by the shop for flies. We have been seeing a good variety of bugs right now. We are seeing Salmonflies, Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, Gray Drakes, and caddis. It seems like surface activity has been slower in the morning when it is still pretty chilly but really picks up in the afternoon. In the shop we have moved to our summer hours and are now open from 7 AM to 7 PM every day.

Recent Reports
Green River
Conditions are good on the Green and it has been fishing pretty well. The upper sections are clear and starting to see some surface bug activity that will continue to increase in the next couple weeks. In the upper sections, look for fish in the pocket water and other areas where they can get out of the heavy current. Below Daniel we are seeing lots of insect activity in the afternoon and the fish have been looking for the big stones. Foam lines along the banks have been a great place to find fish.

Flies to try
Rolling Stone, Split Flag, Peanut Envy
New Fork River
The New Fork water level has been holding really good and the river is coming back into good condition. Gray Drakes are out in good numbers in the upper sections and the fish are keying on them especially later in the day. In the mornings, nymphing is still producing a lot of fish. Below the East Fork the water still has a bit of a tea color to it but has at least a few feet of visibility. Stonefly activity is increasing in the lower river and we have been getting some fish to eat larger bugs on the surface. Look for fish along cut banks and hanging in the deeper holes below riffles.
CFS
Flies to try
Fools Gold, Film Critic, Pheasant Tail
Seedskadee
Below Fontenelle has fished well with all the bug activity. It has been a good year for cicadas down there and we have also been seeing a ton of caddis as well as a few Brown Drakes. Nymphing with scuds, mayfly, and caddis nymphs is still producing really well if the surface action is slow. Expect streamer fishing to be a bit slower in the hot and bright weather, but getting a crayfish pattern down deep may be a good option. Look for active feeders in riffles and choppy water.

Flies to try
Tailwater Sow, Super Beetle, X-Caddis
