Outlook

The cooler weather last week gave us a little fishing window with some pretty nice conditions. Our current warm weather trend has the water on the rise again, but fishable water clarity may hang on for a little while longer. We expect flows during this next flush to peak over the weekend or early next week. Big, flashy bugs will be the name of the game during this period. Remember that darker patterns will hold their color better as clarity decreases. We just got some really nice new streamer patterns in the shop from Blue Line Co., so swing by and check them out.

Green River

Tungsten Terminator, TB Squirmy Worm, Catnip

The Green has been fishing well above 351, but with the increasing flows, head farther upriver to find more favorable conditions. The water is off-color at Warren Bridge but has remained fishable recently. Stones, worms, and streamers have all been producing fish. As the flows increase, fish will be looking for protected water. Target soft currents along cut banks and pocket water around structure.

New Fork River

Flies to try

Biot Stone Jig, DB Rib Worm, Rabbit's Foot

Currently, the New Fork seems to be rising a bit slower than the Green. The sections above Boulder have remained in good shape. Most fish are being caught on stones, worms, and streamers, but there have still been a few BWOs and caddis around, too. Fish have been found along the soft seams and in the deeper pools.

Flies to try

Ray Charles, Anatomical BWO, Disco Minnow

Seedskadee has remained pretty consistent. BWOs, caddis, scuds, and streamers have all been working well. Most of the bigger fish that we have seen have been on streamers. There have still been solid BWO hatches, and fish are still keying on them, but they seem to be slowing down some. Look for fish in the riffles and in feeding lanes along current seams.
