NOTICE: WATER TEMPS MAY BE HIGH IN THE AFTERNOON. STOP FISHING IF WATER TEMP EXCEEDS 68°F.
Fishing has been good this month despite the warmer weather and lower water levels. Finding colder water with faster flows has been the key to success. Remember to get started early and try to end your day before the peak heat brings up those water temperatures in the afternoon. We have seen water temperatures get too warm during the warmest parts of the day on certain sections of water. Keep a close eye on the water temperatures, especially in the lower sections where the current is slower. Dry fly fishing has still been the technique of choice, and we have had a lot of shots at really nice fish sipping bugs on the surface. If you want to get out and fish but are unsure about how to fish in the peak and late summer conditions, book a guided trip. Our guides are experienced and knowledgeable in fishing these conditions and can teach you a ton about how to approach this type of water.

Recent Reports
Green River
Much of the Green is fishing really well. In the upper river, there are still decent numbers of Grey Drakes, and fish are also being caught on PMDs, Yellow Sallies, and even some terrestrials. When fishing smaller dries is slower, we are having good success with tossing some bigger foam bugs with a dropper. Water temps have held up pretty well in the upper sections, but keep a close eye on them as the day heats up.

Flies to try
Outrigger Sally, Film Critic, Amy's Ant
New Fork River
The New Fork tends to be a bit warmer than the Green, but we are still finding some good fishing in the upper sections where colder water from the tributaries is coming in. The Grey Drake hatch is on the tail end down lower, but we are still getting eats on drake patterns as well as PMDs, Yellow Sallies, and Chubbies. Fishing sparse patterns has been working well, and don't skimp on the purple when making your color choices.

Seedskadee
It looks like they have held the flows steady below Fontenelle this past week, and the fishing has been better than it was when flows were on the drop. Some of the lower sections are seeing a buildup of moss, but the sections closer to the dam are holding up better. There has been some dry fly action on big foam, but your best bet is scuds, sowbugs, and crayfish patterns under the indicator. The temperature is a bit warmer down here, so make sure to watch the water temperature closely and end your day before the heat becomes too much.
