Outlook
We are solidly in winter fishing mode, and it has been great. While we are all ready for some snow and real winter weather, I have been taking full advantage of the warmer weather we have had. Most of the fish have posted up in the slower, deeper sections, and slow nymph and streamer presentations have been working well. It seems like more Brown Trout have recovered post-spawn and are feeding more actively and aggressively. Remember that dressing in layers and fishing during the warmest part of the day is the key to staying warm and finding success. Give us a shout if you have any questions about how to properly gear up for winter fishing.
Here in the shop, we have our final session in our fall fly tying series this Thursday from 6:00–8:00 PM. A huge thank you to everyone who has participated in the fall tying series. You all have made it so much fun, and it has been great to have so many people hanging out in the shop. We will be closed during the month of January but will start a new fly tying series on Thursday, February 5th. So, if you missed the fall series, you will have another opportunity to come out and have some fun tying.
We hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in 2026.

Recent Reports
Green River
The Green is largely frozen over around town. There are some small open sections if you really want to fish the upper sections of the Green, but you will find much more water to fish in other areas. Nymphing open pools and slow seams will be the best bet for finding fish.

Flies to try
Batman, Spanish Bullet, Duracell
New Fork River
The New Fork still has a lot of fishable water and is fishing pretty well. Fishing slow sections near seams and way down deep at the end of tailouts has been the most productive. Small and sparse flies are great options for slow presentations. Sizing down your streamers and getting them as deep as possible will help increase your success while streamer fishing.

Seedskadee
Below Fontenelle Dam has been pretty productive lately. We have been seeing lots of midges and scuds, and fish actively feeding during the warmest parts of the day. Swinging small streamers and crayfish patterns with a trout spey rod has produced some nice fish and is a great way to fish slow streamer presentations in the winter. Remember that a wind-breaking outer layer is essential for fishing this area in the winter.
