Outlook
Dry fly fishing is still going strong, and the cooler weather has been fantastic. We have seen both cooler days and cooler nights recently, which has been great for water conditions. The recent precipitation gave us a small bump in flows, and the cooler temperatures have opened up a lot of water that we avoided in the high heat. Dry dropper rigs have still been very productive, with the majority of eats still on the surface. It looks like we have a few warmer days ahead of us; then we return to the cooler nights and comfortable daytime highs. During this short warm stretch, we may still see water temperatures that are borderline too warm in the lower sections of the Green and New Fork during late afternoon and early evening, but water temperatures should be good in the mornings and good throughout the day in upper sections. Streamer fishing has continued to improve, and it looks like we might see some favorable conditions to throw streamers this weekend. We still have decent guide availability heading into fall and the best streamer fishing of the year, so if you like throwing big bugs to big fish, give us a shout.

Recent Reports
Green River
The upper sections of the Green continue to fish really well. Water temps on the upper Green are nice and cold, and the fish have been very active throughout the day. We are still seeing a few caddis and Yellow Sallies, and starting to see some BWOs around, but terrestrials and larger foam bugs are producing the best. Smaller jig streamers in the skinnier water are a really good option right now too. We have seen improving conditions on some of the lower sections with good water temps in the morning. We have seen water temps hovering around 67 degrees in some spots late in the afternoon. Single dries, dry droppers and larger streamers have all produced fish in the lower sections.

Flies to try
Spanish Bullet, Purple Bruce, Back Stop Jig
New Fork River
We have certainly seen some improvement on the New Fork, but it is still fishing a bit slower than the Green. Water temps above the East Fork Confluence have been good, but we are still seeing temperatures creep up in the afternoon below the confluence. Dry droppers with darker-bodied foam bugs have worked really well, and we should see streamer action continue to improve in the coming weeks. If you are looking for an area to target risers with small bugs like tricos, midges, and BWOs, the upper sections of the New Fork are a good spot to do it.

Flies to try
Sleezy Rider, Yellow Spot Jig, Brain Damage
Seedskadee
Flows out of the dam are cool, but the water gets warmer the farther downstream you get. It looks like flows have stayed about the same, but we are still hoping for a flush here soon. Fishing between the dam and Slate Creek has been the most consistent with small nymphs producing the most fish. Streamer and BWO activity should be pretty good with some cloudy weather in the forecast. Look for fish active near the riffles.

Disco Minnow, Flyweight Scud, Jigged BWO
