Outlook
April is an exciting time here at Two Rivers, and spring fishing has been really good so far. This April should be especially good because of the warm weather we have had. We have fishing opportunities right now that are not usually available to us this early. While the warm spring weather has been a great opportunity to get some early season fishing in, it has had a major impact on our snowpack. We expect that runoff will be earlier this year, so be prepared for that special time of year to come a bit earlier as well. The shop is now open seven days a week, and we have piles of new products coming in all the time right now, so swing by or check out our online shop. Trout Unlimited is hosting their iron fly competition again this year. We had a great time at this event last year, so if you are in town, I encourage you to come out and tie some flies. The event is this Thursday, 4/2, from 6-8 PM at The Experience at Rendezvous Meadows.

Recent Reports
Green River
The Green River is free of ice and largely accessible. The Warren Bridge access area is free of snow, but the water is still pretty cold up that high. Flows are up a little, and it is running pretty muddy, but still fishable if you are looking for a place to go throw big bugs. Large streamers, stonefly nymphs, and worms have been working the best. Try darker patterns as they tend to be more visible in dirty water.

Flies to try
Ebony, 20 Incher, Sparkle Worm
New Fork River
The New Fork is still running low, but the fishing has been pretty good. Fish are still mostly hanging in deeper areas and along slower seams, but we have seen fish move into the riffles on warm days to feed. There are a lot of midges and BWOs flying around and the occasional rising fish, but nymphing and streamer fishing are still the most productive options. Small stonefly and mayfly nymphs have been working the best for nymphing, and darker color streamers have been the most productive.

Flies to try
Peanut Envy, Batman, Anatomical BWO
Seedskadee
Fishing below Fontenelle Dam has been solid so far this spring. Rainbows and Cutthroat have begun spawning, so please keep an eye out for and avoid actively spawning fish and redds. Sow bugs and midge nymphs are still working really well. BWO nymphs, crayfish patterns, and streamers are also good options. Look for active fish where riffles drop into deeper buckets, in tailouts, and along foam lines.
