The fishing around Pinedale has been great this week. Many anglers are shy about this time of the year, but they’re missing out. Small crowds and some big fish can be caught this time of the year. We have stillwater and river floats that are producing great fish right now.  This weekend is looking to be mid 70’s on Saturday so call us up and book a day of fishing before we get another big flush of run-off.  Take advantage of this small window of spring fishing!

Green River

The Green River is running 2270 today and water clarity is improving slowly. The upper Green is open to travel and we have seen a few boats floating above the Forest Boundary. Fishing has been great if you’re looking to streamer fish or nymph.  If flows hold throughout the weekend we will start to see boats hitting the Warren Bridge area. If you are planning a trip to Pinedale this weekend, stop by our shop and get the most up-to-date info on this river. We have guides out everyday and can help point you in the right direction. Shoot us a line and book a trip for this weekend!

New Fork River

This river is flowing at 2860 cfs and fishing great! Our guides have been finding the holding holes and producing some nice fish. We have some stone and worm patterns at the shop that have been working well in the current conditions. This river has been seeing a little uptick in traffic the last few days, but the fishing is holding steady. There’s some nice weather in the forecast for this weekend so get the rods out and go fishing.

This section of the Green is fishing really well right now! We work with Wind River Troutfitters, LLC and have 2 guides on staff that are permitted through the refuge. This river is a tailwater and so flows are more predictable. Flows are going to keep increasing for the next few weeks, so the window to catch some great fish is right now.

The local lakes are fishing great. We have info that Fremont Lake, Boulder, Soda and Green River Lakes have all been fishing well. We offer custom lake fishing trips that are a blast. Come chase some big lake trout or brown trout with us on one of our local lakes. The stillwater fishing around Pinedale is underrated and unknown to many-we truly have some of the best lakes to fish. Soda lake has been hot and our guided trips out there have been having great success on leeches, scuds, and damsels. The damsels are moving in small numbers this time of the year, but fish are eating them and in the next few weeks the fish will really start to key in on them! Sinking lines are a must-stop in and check out the RIO streamer tip line. It has been working great on the lakes this spring.

Everything is open around Pinedale, but your biggest worry is clean water.  Go high and you will find some cleaner water! Remember to fish with caution in high water-no section of the river is the same two days in a row right now, so practice safety first always!
